Fortnightly at the Community House
1/12/2026 11:01 pm
Fortnightly, now in its 68th year and run by The Community House, is a program for 8th grade students at HCHS's feeder schools. The program has the goals of teaching students basic dance steps, instructing them on ballroom etiquette, and, most importantly, building their confidence in social situations. Registration opens on January 23 through the Community House.
Fortnightly takes place across seven Fridays beginning March 20 and ending May 8 (two off-weeks), with three sessions each Friday. Additionally, on Saturday, May 9, there will be an optional event, Fortnightly: The Last Dance, to celebrate the end of the program.
Each session will initially open with 80 spots (40 boys / 40 girls), and, while you may not be placed into your preferred session, all students are guaranteed a spot in Fortnightly.

"Hole" Lotta Love Donut Fundraiser
1/12/2026 10:53 pm
Families Helping Families (FHF) is collaborating with the Staff Appreciation Committee to announce our exciting “Hole” Lotta Love Donut Fundraiser! 100% of all proceeds will go directly to FHF.
What is Families Helping Families? It is a self-funded PTO committee that supports our HMS families when immediate needs arise due to unforeseen circumstances that impact the student’s day-to-day living. The committee was established in 2024, following the model of Hinsdale Central’s FHF, which has been in place since 2006. FHF operates solely through contributions from our HMS community. Some basic need items provided by FHF may include school supplies, clothing, furniture, gift cards for gas and grocery, and assistance with utility & car payments. To ensure confidentiality and protect the privacy and dignity of students and families, all requests must be submitted through the HMS social workers.
“Hole” Lotta Love Donut Fundraiser will accomplish two key goals:
1) Show appreciation for our wonderful teachers and staff by sending a deserving staff or team a message of gratitude plus a sweet Valentine’s treat, Page’s apple cider donut.
2) Support FHF in their fundraising effort so they can launch meaningful projects that benefit HMS students & families.
Please fill out the ordering form HERE or scanning the QR code below. All messages will be read only by the intended recipients.
The order deadline is Friday, February 6th. Donut & message delivery day is Thursday, February 12th, just in time to share with their families on Valentine’s Day.
Thank you for helping us show our staff just how much we appreciate them and for supporting FHS! Questions? Email Denys at fhf@hmspto.org.
