MATHCOUNTS Competition Series

MATHCOUNTS is a fun and challenging national math competition program for middle school students. A group of parents is organizing a MATHCOUNTS team for interested students, with weekly meetings starting Wednesday, November 18th, from 3:30 - 4:30 pm in HMS Room #104.

Mark your calendars for the HMS Book Fair! This is always a great opportunity to get the students involved in supporting our fabulous HMS library. Sales will be held during school days, Monday, December 14-Wednesday, December 16. Perfect for last minute holiday shopping! Apple Pay and cash accepted.

Battle of the Books Sign Up

Battle of the Books sign up is happening now! Students may sign up individually or with a team of no more than four total members. Ms. Scacco will help form teams if students are looking for one. Students can sign up and see the reading list by joining the Battle of the Books Google Classroom with the code found in the email sent to them.
Competitions will begin the week of January 4th and will run through March. Teams will participate in weekly competitions to accumulate points before our March Madness tournament begins to determine the HMS champions. Teams will choose one time slot each week that works best for them. Choices include Thursday at 7:45 am, Thursday at 3:20pm, Friday at 7:45 am or Friday at 3:20pm. We will meet in room 319.
Students should reach out to Ms. Scacco in room 319 with any questions!

Save the Date! PTO meetings during the 2026-2027 school year will be held at 9:00 am on the following dates: January 15, March 12, and May 14. More details to come!
If you haven’t already, please join or renew your PTO membership. In addition to the fact that you must be a paid PTO member to attend meetings and volunteer, your PTO membership fee goes directly to our operating budget and allows us to support our students and teachers. You can sign up easily HERE, under Nonprofit groups.
Hinsdale Central Drama Presents SIX: The Musical

Six queens. One stage. And it's their turn to tell the story! Hinsdale Central Drama presents SIX, the high-energy, pop-concert musical about girl power, sisterhood, and finding your voice. Henry VIII's six wives trade heartbreak for harmony as they take back the mic and remind us that we're stronger together.
At about 80 minutes with no intermission, it's a great family night out, and a chance for future Red Devils to see what's waiting for them at Hinsdale Central! Shows are:
Friday, 11/20 at 6 PM, Saturday, 11/21 at 1 PM and 6 PM and Sunday, 11/22 at 1 PM.
