Congratulations to the Class of 2025!

Congratulations to our 8th grade graduates! They enjoyed a fun time celebrating their achievements at Bowlero. Thank you to PTO 8th Grade Graduation Committee for sponsoring Bowlero and organizing the memorable graduation ceremony. We would like to also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the entire HMS teachers and staff for preparing our students for this new and exciting chapter. We wish our graduates the best of luck in high school!

A Message from PTO Co-Presidents

As we wrap up our term as Co-Presidents of the HMS PTO, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire Hinsdale Middle School community. It has truly been an honor to serve alongside such dedicated parents, staff, and students.

This year, we set out a few simple but meaningful goals: modernize our tools and communications, show our teachers how much they're appreciated, and foster a sense of community that brings families together and support HMS students in various ways. With your support, we accomplished exactly that.

From the successful launch of our new website and toolkit, to introducing GiftCrowd-powered teacher appreciation efforts, continued support of the Spartan Shack, bringing in engaging assembly speakers, and memorable school dances-each initiative was possible by your involvement and generosity. Whether you attended the New Parent Night, ordered Chick-fil-A during our give back night, went to the Parent Progressive dinner, or helped support the 8th Grade Graduation celebration events, you were part of something special, We will always be grateful to those who gave to our annual campaign "Support Your Spartan", which continues to fund school initiatives and the additional experiences for our kids.

As we pass the baton, we do so with deep appreciation and great confidence in the incredible leadership of Kristin Sweis and the incoming PTO Exec Board. We know they will continue to elevate the HMS experience with passion and creativity, and we are grateful for their willingness to step up. We both will continue on with the PTO in different capacities and are excited to continue to work with and lean on this amazing new slate. We also want to thank the administration and staff at HMS who have given a lot of support throughout the year from the dance, to the 8th grade celebration, to classroom enhancements, and the list goes on!

Extending gratitude for the opportunity to serve, we are humbled by what we've achieved together, and so proud of our school community.

Last Words from Your Editor

It is with bittersweet emotions to be signing off as HMS PTO editor, this being my very last post. I've served in this role for the past 5 years, aiming to share the most updated news to our families. My goals have been to highlight our students' wonderful accomplishments, staff's well-deserved recognitions, and all the incredible educational and fun PTO sponsored events. I am so appreciative of the many parents who have volunteered beside me in various capacities for the past 10 years. Our D181 community has inspired me to keep giving back, yet also letting me know I'm allowed to have limitations, especially when life seems overwhelming. I cannot think of a more purposeful and fulfilling way to spend my time, with the hopes of making a positive impact in the educational experiences for students and staff. I have no doubt that the countless hours I've devoted to serving were time well spent...striving to always serve with humility, kindness, and passion. Thank you to the PTO for putting your confidence in me and in return, giving me memories we have shared together. As I step away (not completely), I do so with a full heart and deep gratitude.
