Staff Appreciation Week of Celebrations

Our 100 HMS teachers and staff were celebrated during Staff Appreciation Week. The PTO sponsored daily fun and delicious events including an Expresso Bar, a breakfast feast, a diverse potluck lunch, Culver's frozen custards, a Water Tok station, and snacks all week long. They also received a personalized goodie bag. We are so grateful to have such incredible, caring, and dedicated educators teaching our students!

The PTO staff appreciation committee wants to sincerely thank and recognize all the generous families who contributed to a very special and successful Staff Appreciation Week! Your thoughtfulness meant so much to the HMS staff.

Celebrate Your 8th Grader with Red Devil Spirit Wear!

Is your 8th grader heading to Hinsdale Central this fall? Get them excited for high school with some Red Devil gear! The Boosters is hosting their final spirit wear sales of the year on Tuesday, May 13th & Tuesday, May 20th, from 3–8pm at the Grant Street entrance at Hinsdale Central. It’s a great time to pick up a fun graduation gift and help your future freshman start showing their school spirit early!

Order School Supplies for 2025-26 by June 1st

Order your HMS school supplies online now until June 1st. They will be conveniently shipped directly to your home. The early sale which is happening now until 6/1 is the price shown online. If parents order after 6/1, the price increases by $10. This sale window will end on 6/22. All kits purchased until 6/22 will be shipped directly to homes on 8/4.

Please note that all 6th, 7th and 8th graders will use the scientific calculator that is included in the 6th grade w/calculator kit, or it is available to purchase separately as an add on item when purchasing any kit. The graphing calculator is also listed as an add on item, but your student will be notified by their teacher if that is needed. Click HERE to order. Free Virtual Event for Parents

The Community House is offering a free virtual event for parents in honor of Mental Health Awareness month on Monday, May 12th at 7pm. This one-hour webinar, Recognizing the Signs: How to Spot Emotional Struggles in Youth, will support parents in understanding and recognizing when their child might be experiencing a mental health issue as well highlighting ways to respond, connect to appropriate resources and build stronger lines of communication.

Washington DC Registration Reminder

Registration for the Washington DC trip for the class of 2026 8th graders is currently open. If you have not already done so, please go to the Washington DC website HERE where registration directions and a link to NationsClassroom can be found. Registration closes May 24th.

If you are able, please donate to the HMS Angel Fund. This fund provides scholarships to 8th grade students. Checks can be made payable to HMS Angel Fund and dropped off in the main office to the attention of Principal Cory Burke. Thank you for your consideration!

Hinsdale Central's Girls Basketball Summer Camp

Attention all ballers! Hinsdale Central Girls Basketball is holding their summer camp in June!
For incoming freshman (current 8th graders) there is a camp designed to learn and play along with your future Red Devil teammates - it's also a great way to meet current Central students and get more familiar with high school as your student-athlete makes that transition - there are no cuts for freshmen girls basketball at Hinsdale Central. For current 6th and 7th graders, there is a one week camp June 2-6th. For information on both options, click one the registration link HERE.

Hinsdale Central Girls Basketball is coming off their best season since 2008-09 and was ranked 22nd in the state by Sports Illustrated. Next year's team is loaded with HMS Alums!
