The HMS Book Fair Is Coming Soon!
10/8/2025 11:05 pm
Mark your calendars and add the HMS Book Fair to your holiday shopping list! We are excited to bring back our beloved book fair with new shopping dates this year. Student sales will be held during school days, Tuesday-Friday, November 18-21. Additionally, shopping will be available during Parent Teacher Conferences, Monday-Tuesday, November 24-25.
As always, the success of this event relies on our parent volunteers! Grab a friend and sign up to help students to shop and make purchases. It's simple and FUN! Please see available volunteer opportunities HERE.
HMS is proud to partner with local bookstore, Anderson's Bookshop. Anderson's generously gives back to HMS - the more we sell, the higher the percentage of sales come back to us. Start making those shopping lists!

Annual Staff Potluck For Parent-Teacher Conferences

Please help us show some thanks and love to our HMS teachers and staff! We need volunteers to contribute a dish or drinks for the annual parent teacher conference potluck dinner for staff on Monday, November 24th. This PTO event is a staff favorite because they always love the amazing diversity dishes from HMS families! Food can be home cooked, store bought or catered. Please sign up HERE.
Food should be dropped off/delivered to HMS between 3:30-4:45pm (staff dinner break begins at 5:20pm).
Lastly, we welcome any help with set up if you are waiting for conferences. And if you are going to be out of town this week and would like to make a monetary donation instead, please contact the staff appreciation committee at staffapp@hmspto.org. Your family contributions and thoughtfulness will be acknowledged. Thank you in advance for making this such a wonderful event for our HMS staff!

ASL Club at HMS
10/8/2025 10:45 pm
Learning American Sign Language (ASL) is like unlocking a whole new way to connect! It’s fun, expressive, and lets you communicate without saying a word (send secret messages in class or across a crowded or quiet room!). You’ll strengthen your brain with a new language, and gain a skill that helps make the world more inclusive.
Plus, ASL can count as a language credit in high school, and is the third most studied language in US colleges and universities behind Spanish & French and has uses in many job fields. Learn ASL — speak with your hands, listen with your eyes, and make a difference! Please see the Flyer HERE an alternate link HERE.
