If you’re a parent, you’ve had a moment–maybe many of them–when you’ve thought, “How did that conversation go so badly?” William Stixrud, Ph.D., and Ned Johnson have 60 years combined experience talking to kids one-on-one, and the most common question they get when out speaking to parents and educators is: What do you say? Johnson and Stixrud show how to engage in respectful and effective dialogue, suggest new ways to handle specific thorny topics, and provide a manual and map for communicating more effectively with your child.

This event is free and open to all. If you are interested in attending, please register in advance by using the registration links. See FLYER for more details.

2022-23 Yearbook

Welcome to another great year at HMS. This year we have some exciting new (and old) ideas for the 2022-23 yearbook. Due to many requests for 8th grade baby pictures I am going to try to incorporate them into the yearbook again this year. We are also going to have a contest for students to submit artwork to be used on the front and back covers.

Student artwork can be in the form of hand drawings, digital media, or original graphic designs they create. If a student is creating a hand drawing, it needs to be 8.5 by 11, free of erasures and please use a fine point black sharpie used for outlines. Digital/graphic submissions also need to be 8.5 by 11 with a resolution of 300 dpi or better. All artwork must be submitted no later than September 30th and more information will be provided on how to submit.

Additionally, we will continue to ask for pictures throughout the year, especially for activities and sporting events. At this time we are collecting pictures for the first day of school, 6th grade welcome field day, cross country, and 8th grade baby pictures (one per student please). If you would like to submit pictures for consideration to the yearbook staff please follow the directions below:
