Action Required – Register for HMS Directory

Exciting News! AtoZ Connect is now powered by Membership Toolkit to bring you the best directory experience available. The system is secure and easy to use.

All HMS families will need to create an account and verify that their directory content is accurate. Once this is completed, you will have immediate access to the directory. To access the new HMS AtoZ Connect site, visit https://hmspto.membershiptoolkit.com.

After October 15th, the directory will only be accessible to families who have joined the HMS PTO. To join, visit https://hmspto.org/registration.

You can also download the new Membership Toolkit mobile app for your convenience to access our directory on the go.

Did you know that D181 just celebrated a birthday?

Did you know that D181 just celebrated a birthday? On September 14, 1976, The Windhover sculpture by Robert Murray, located on the grounds of Hinsdale Middle School, was dedicated and gifted to D181 and its students past, present and future. Restoration and re-dedication efforts are currently being undertaken by HMS PTO and D181 to revive the beauty of this Smithsonian-registered work of art. Detailed information will be shared with the HMS, the D181 and the local communities very soon! Or, if you’d like a head start, please visit our Windhover information page to learn more or to donate. Happy Birthday, Windhover!

Yearbook Picture Request

Since students are required to wear masks again in school, we would like to collect pictures of students without masks from families throughout the school year. Fortunately, due to the addition of school activities, we do not know all of the yearbook sections at this time. However, we would like to start gathering pictures just in case we need to use them. If you would like to submit pictures for consideration to the yearbook staff please follow the directions below:

Download the Yearbook Snap mobile app from the App Store or Google Play, and enter our access code: HinsdaleMS_2022
Go to yearbookforever.com, enter our school name, click on Community Upload and enter our access code: HinsdaleMS_2022

We are now able to create categories for pictures being collected to make the process easier. Below are the categories we are currently collecting pictures for at this time and the due dates.

Requested Pictures to Upload Due Date
*First Day of School 10/31/2021
*6th Grade Welcome Field Day 10/31/2021
*Cross Country Pictures 10/31/2021
*7th Grade Field Day 10/31/2021

Additionally, when selecting pictures to upload, please be sure they only include HMS students.

As the yearbook is being assembled, additional picture requests may be added to the list above.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Community Speaker Series Presents Jamil Zaki on 10/5/21

Mark your calendars! The first event of the Community Speaker Series 2021/22 Season is just around the corner:

Jamil Zaki
The War for Kindness
Building Empathy in a Fractured World
October 5, 2021 – 7:00-8:30 PM

Jamil Zaki is a professor of psychology at Stanford University and the director of the Stanford Social Neuroscience Lab. Using tools from psychology and neuroscience, he and his colleagues examine how empathy works and how people can learn to empathize more effectively.

In The War for Kindness he weaves together the latest science with engaging real-world stories, offering us a revolutionary perspective on empathy and how to develop it as a skill. He shows that kindness is not a sign of weakness but a source of strength. With warmth, wit and straightforward exercises that can be swiftly implemented, Zaki shows audiences of all ages how to change their professional, student, creative and personal relationships for the better.
The webinar is free and open to all. If you are interested in attending, please register.
