Picture Day is September 3rd at HMS. The easiest way to view and order pictures is by going to shop.hrimaging.com. Order forms are available in the main office if you choose to mail in an order. All students are photographed for school records and purchases are optional. Retakes and makeups will be available if dissatisfied with photo results or student was absent on picture day. That date is yet to be scheduled and will be announced.

6th Grade Celebration

We capped off a wonderful first week with a special event for our 6th graders this past Friday afternoon! Teachers and parent volunteers worked together to plan fun outdoor for the students, who even got to enjoy Outshine Bars as a nice cold snack. Thank you to all the volunteers and teachers who worked together to give our 6th graders a special way to celebrate the new school year.

Bus Information

Parents can look up their student’s bus information per the following instructions here.  If you have specific questions, please email buseligibility@d181.org or call the D181 Business Office at 630-861-4950.

School Supplies

There are still a few school supply packs available for purchase in the HMS office.  Contact Mrs. Salach, gsalach@d181.org/630.861.4700, to buy a kit.  Sixth grade kits are $130, 7th/8th kits cost $100 with checks payable to HMS PTO.  If you have not already done so, please deliver shared supplies to your student’s advisory teacher.  Thank you!

Last Call for Spiritwear!

The spiritwear store is open through Tuesday, August 31st and our winter items make great holiday gifts! Visit the online store and get the gear your student wants to show their HMS spirit! While it’s hot now, it won’t be for long! Consider buying sweatshirts or flannel PJ pants as early holiday gifts for your kids, or our “Yeti-like” tumbler for both cold and hot drinks. (They make excellent stocking stuffers!)

HMS spiritwear items and pricing include:
Navy performance hooded sweatshirt: $45
Grey cotton fleece hooded sweatshirt: $35
Flannel PJ pants: $30
Tumbler: $20
Light blue performance t-shirt: $25
Blue and white tie-dye cotton t-shirt: $20
Grey soft-style cotton t-shirt: $20
Black with blue and white trim nylon shorts: $25
Spiritwear should be arriving mid-September and distribution information will be provided at that time. If you have Spiritwear-related questions, please email spiritwear@hmspto.org.

Welcome Spartans!

The PTO Executive Board would like to welcome all incoming students! Whether this is their first year or their last at HMS, the teachers have been excitedly preparing for Monday, August 23rd! 2021-2022 will be a year to remember.

Just a few reminders:
– Masks are required when in the building
– The HMS school day runs from 8:25 a.m.- 3:15 p.m. There is an 8:15 a.m. bell that allows students to go to their lockers and classrooms. Most students arrive between 8:15 a.m. and 8:20 a.m. to have time to get to their lockers and then to their first class. Students must be in their first classroom when the 8:25 a.m. bell rings or they will be marked tardy.
– Bus schedules should now be posted on Skyward. If there are any issues, please contact the District at buseligibility@d181.org. While the HMS office staff would love to help, buses are run by the District.
– Please enter through the North doors. If dropping your child off, enter the HMS parking deck off of Washington St.

We look forward to a fantastic year! If you have any questions or would like to get involved more with the PTO, please contact president@hmspto.org or membership@hmspto.org. We have also attached the Parent Survival Guide which you may have received at Back to School Day but includes lots of useful information.

Best regards,
The PTO Executive Board
