Teacher Appreciation Week May 5-9th

4/12/2025 11:22 am

Teacher Appreciation Week will be celebrated during the week of May 5-9th. The PTO staff appreciation committee has organized daily events to show our gratitude as another school year comes to an end. We have included a couple opportunities for our HMS families to contribute!

The staff lounge will be stocked with a variety of snacks and drinks all week long. We are asking for donations to be dropped off on Friday, May 2nd. Sign up HERE.

We are also bringing back our beloved potluck for ALL staff to enjoy on Wednesday, May 7th. The diversity of food options makes this a staff favorite! Food will need to be dropped off/delivered by 10:30am. Sign up HERE. Reach out if you can volunteer for set up.

Please email Denys/Marni at staffapp@hmspto.org to arrange an alternative drop off date/location for snacks or to make a monetary donation toward these two events. Your family will be acknowledged for any contributions. We are grateful for your participation in making our dedicated HMS teachers and staff feel celebrated and recognized!

8th Grade Celebration Updates

4/11/2025 7:33 pm

We truly appreciate your continued enthusiasm and support in helping make the end of 8th grade a memorable experience for our students. Your involvement means so much and plays a key role in making events like these possible.

We’re excited to share that the 8th Grade Graduation Party will be held at Bowlero in Woodridge on Thursday, May 29th from 12:00–2:00pm.

Students will enjoy bowling, food, drinks, music, dessert, and a fun selfie station—a perfect way to celebrate together and create memories that will last a lifetime!

Keep an eye out—we’ll be holding a raffle for prime parking and seating at the HMS graduation. Ticket information will be shared soon!

In the next few weeks, you’ll also receive communication from the school regarding transportation and permission slips for the event.

Thank you again for all that you do to support our school community. We’re looking forward to a fantastic celebration!

Questions? Email Sandra Meltzer/Divya Sharma (8th Grade Graduation Co-Chairs) at graduation@hmspto.org.

Final PTO Meeting, 5/2

4/2/2025 5:00 pm

Save the date for our final PTO meeting on Friday, May 2nd at 9am (MRC) with specials guests from College Bound Consulting. It's never too early to start thinking about college admissions. Two representatives, including HMS parent Allison Peters, will share insights on what parents need to know to set their students up for success in high school and beyond.

Due to this topic's popularity, we are offering a Zoom option for parents who cannot attend in-person. Secure your spot by dialing in early since we have limited room via Zoom. Join Zoom meeting HERE. (Meeting ID: 830 8697 1890, Passcode: 7BpgSF)
