This Tuesday, 2/4, stop by Cafe La Fortuna to support HMS! Ten percent of all sales all day will go back to the HMS PTO. Hours are 6:00am-4:00pm. Treat yourself to a delicious coffee & pastry, or pick up a few bags of coffee beans — perfect for Valentine gifts!

Introducing your 7th Grade Boys Basketball Conference Champions! Congratulations to our HMS boys on their 39-29 win over tough opponent, Bryan. Thank you to all of the fans who came out, and many thanks to Coach Kelly Pelak for her leadership! Go Spartans!

Jazz Ensemble Illinois Music Education Conference

The Jazz Ensemble performed at the Illinois Music Education Conference (IMEC) in Peoria last Friday. They represented HMS proudly with an audience full of standing room only and standing ovations! Thank you, Jazz Ensemble Director Mr. George Andrikokus for your passion in teaching which is evident by the students' exemplary performance! The Jazz Ensemble families are also grateful for the support of d181 Superintendent Dr. Garcia, who devoted travel time to Peoria to watch their performance.

Last call! Please join us THIS WEEK for the Community Speaker Series winter events at The Community House. We are thrilled to welcome internationally renowned educational psychologist and award-winning author, Dr. Michele Borba, "Empathy and the Unselfie Revolution". Come for the expertise and stay for the refreshments! Kramer Foods will provide treats on Wednesday evening, and Cafe LaFortuna will provide coffee on Thursday morning. We appreciate our community partners and look forward to connecting with our parent community!

Save the Date: PTO Meeting 3/14

Save the Date! We welcome all PTO members to attend our PTO meeting next month, March 14th, featuring Dr. Lana Kashlan, who is a dermatologist in the area. Dr. Kashlan will lead a discussion on teen skin health. In the era of TikTok and Drunk Elephant skin products, we are delighted that she will provide some helpful information on how parents should navigate through many products targeted for teens. Thank you, Dr. Kashlan for supporting the PTO! Our general meeting agenda to follow after the presentation.
