This January, students will have the opportunity to participate in the HMS Spelling Bee at the grade and middle school levels. Contestants who advance have the chance to move on to the district bee, and perhaps even represent us all the way to Washington, DC! We will hold two rounds of our bee. In order to maintain Covid safety precautions, round one will be a written bee held after school on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 3:20 – 4pm. All interested spellers are welcome to participate. The top four spellers from each grade level in round one will move on to round two, the HMS School Bee. This will be held after school on a different date and will be a traditional oral spelling bee. More information about the date will be forthcoming.
All students were emailed the word lists we will use, building up to the HMS School Bee in January. We are likely to use words from all of the lists emailed. Students who are interested in participating in the spelling bee this year should click HERE or stop by room 205 to register by January 4. Registered students will be added to the HMS Spelling Bee Google Classroom. All information about the bee will be posted there. Good luck to all!
