8th Grade Year End Activities

(1 Chair, 3 committee members) Obligation is April, May and June to plan graduation event and potential year end activities for 8th graders.

Activities Fair

(1 Chair, no committee) Obligation is for 2-3 weeks in September. Obtain list from Mr. May of teachers participating in the Activities Fair. Distribute thank you gift cards to those teachers. Report to VP of Technology on Executive Board.

(1 chair no committee) Responsible for updating the online directory at the beginning of school year and throughout the year with needed changes.

eNewsletter Editors

(2 Chairs, no committee-ideally this is a two person job that rotates weekly/monthly) Obligation is weekly through-out the year to write the weekly eBlast that is emailed to parents every Sunday. Review eBlast requests and communicate with school secretary about any needs to be reported through the eBlast.

(1Chair, no committee) Obligation is throughout the year to update/post school happenings on social media 2-3 times a week. Work in conjunction with eBlast editors, administrative staff who handle IG account, and VP of Communications. Working with Chair of eBlast at times will be necessary. Sister School

Lost & Found

(1 Chair, no committee) the year to regularly communicate with school secretary need of purging lost and found items. May include contacting parents if items have names or donating/purging items when an owner cannot be found.

Membership

(1 chair and 1 committee member) Responsible for upkeep of membership, obtaining new members, send welcome emails to new families informing them about the PTO. Monitor and report to Ex Board PTO registration numbers.

School Supplies/Recycling of School Supplies

(1 Chair and 2 committee members) Obligation is in March to discuss with teachers what the supply boxes should contain for the upcoming year. In April, work with supply company to confirm items in each grade kit, then advertise sales in PTO eBlast. Answer questions from parents and administrative staff about supplies. August/September assist with further needs of kits delivered to homes.

SELAS & Service Projects

(1 Chair) Report to Co-Presidents on Ex Board.

-Help School Psychologist and her team to create a positive and welcoming climate at HMS by helping plan events throughout the year including 6th Grade Kickoff Celebration (1st week of school), Unity Monday (in October), Spirit Weeks throughout the year (fall, winter, and spring), and collect gift cards around the holidays for families in need.

-The SELAS committee will collaborate with the psychologist and/or social workers at HMS.

-Plan a SELAS-related speaker to present at one PTO general body meeting

Spiritwear

(2 Co-Chairs) Responsible for keeping spirit wear supply fresh and stocked. Obligations are March for ordering, May for 5th grade parent night to sell merchandise, August Back to School Event in August to sell merchandise. Set up online store for flash sale if requested by the board. Report to VP of Fundraising on Ex Board.

Staff Appreciation

(2 Chairs, 2 committee members) Plan and deliver monthly appreciation events for the staff throughout the school year. Commitment obligations are for a day or two to pick up and deliver to HMS items to be given to staff.
