The HMS PTO is currently looking for representatives to serve on the PTO Nominating Committee. The Nominating Committee identifies candidates and determines the executive board slate which will be presented at our PTO General Membership meeting in May. We are seeking representatives from each of the HMS feeder schools.

Simplify Summer Planning with the D181 Summer Camp Expo (March 9)
All community members are invited to the annual D181 Summer Camp Expo, taking place Thursday, March 9 at Prospect School (6-8:30pm). This is a one-stop-shop to meet with exhibitors one-on-one and learn about local and regional overnight camps, sports camps, fine arts programs, science and educational camps, recreation activities, and more. 5th Grade IEP/504 Parent Event Scheduled for March 14
If you have a 5th grade child with an IEP or 504 Plan, join us for the event “Transitioning into Middle School with an IEP or 504.” The program will include a panel discussion on the District’s continuum of services, classes, and level of support. We will also discuss what parents can do to help their child through this transition process.

Thanks to generous faculty, staff, sponsors and many volunteers, there are many raffles and Silent Auctions at Trivia Night!

Raffle Tickets will be sold for $1 each or take advantage of a discount on 8 tickets for $5. Kids or adults can then enter for a chance at these fun prizes! These are individual raffles so you choose which prize or prizes you have a chance to win.

How do I buy tickets?
Tables seat up to six people.  You may sign up as a team or purchase individual tickets. Do you have more than six people in your group? You can purchase two tables and we will seat your teams next to each other.

What is the schedule for the evening?
6:30 p.m. –  Table decoration (optional)
7:00 p.m. –  Food and entertainment (HMS Jazz Ensemble), raffles and silent auctions
7:45 p.m. – Trivia game begins

Will food be served?
Yes! Each ticket includes light fare dinner and beverages.  No alcohol will be served or permitted at the event.

What is a Trivia Night?
One of the hottest trends in gaming right now is Trivia Nights. Our event will be hosted by professional trivia company Pub Trivia.  This is a rollicking good time similar to events hosted in venues throughout Chicagoland but appropriate for both middle schoolers and adults.

Does my team need a name and theme?
Yes, your team will need a name. Themes and table decorations are highly encouraged. Suggested themes are:
Sports Teams, College Alma Maters, Fictional Characters, Mardi Gras, Movies, Music, etc.

If I’m not able to attend, can I donate instead?
Yes, please do! This is HMS’s only fundraiser of the year.

Hello HMS parents,

Unfortunately due to low participation from the involved middle schools, Operation Snowflake has been cancelled for Friday, February 24th and will not be rescheduled for this school year. If you have submitted a registration form and payment, they will be sent home with your child this week.

Operation Snowflake will be take place Friday, February 24 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Hinsdale Central High School.

Operation Snowflake is an annual event hosted by Hinsdale Central High School students to share conversations and knowledge involving: communication skills, positive mental attitude, peer pressure, self-esteem, improving relationships, and the reality of high school. Your child will get to meet and make new friends from surrounding middle schools, while working in small and large groups to promote social and emotional development. It will be teens working with teens!

Registration forms are available in the HMS Student Services Office.  You can also access the form by clicking here.  Forms are due to the HMS Student Services office by Friday, February 17th.

This event is sure to provide your child with FRIENDS, FACTS, FOOD and FUN!
