Nominating Committee Needed

The PTO is looking for parent volunteers to help with our nominating committee. Duties include coming up and discussing potential candidates to fill empty committee and executive board roles on the PTO 2023/2024 school year. Meeting are held for the remainder of this CURRENT school year. We are looking for parents who represent the different elementary schools in hopes to reach a variety of parents that may have not volunteered in the past. Adolescent mental health isn’t about feeling good, calm, or relaxed, but about having the right feelings at the right times, and knowing how to manage those feelings effectively.

Lisa Damour, Ph.D offers guidance to adults on how to help teens open up, and how to keep teens from being overwhelmed by their emotions or feeling at the mercy of their moods. She provides concrete strategies for dealing with teens arguments, risk-taking, emerging romantic lives, friendships, social media and more.

Save the Date- College Advising

Please save the date for Wednesday, January 18th at 7 pm for an enlightening Zoom presentation and discussion with Kim Anderson, founder of Spotlight College Advising.

Kim will cover everything from the current college admissions landscape and factors for admission to how to make wise choices when mapping out your 4-year curriculum plan for high school. She will also cover maximizing your child’s odds of admission down the road and minimizing your costs. The presentation will last approximately 45 minutes with an additional 15 minutes for Q&A.
