Community Speaker Series: January 2019 Event

Mark your calendars! The second 2018/19 Community Speaker Series event is just around the corner:

Dr. Lisa Damour
Untangled: Guiding Girls Through Seven Transitions into Adulthood

1/23/19 7:00-8:30 pm Hinsdale Central Auditorium
1/24/19 9:30-11:00 am Hinsdale South Auditorium

Dr. Damour draws on decades of experience and the latest research to reveal the seven distinct – and absolutely normal – developmental transitions that turn girls into grown-ups. Providing realistic scenarios and welcome advice on how to engage daughters in smart, constructive ways, Untangled gives parents a broad framework for understanding their daughters while addressing their most common questions.

The program is free and open to all, but space is limited. If you are interested in attending, please register in advance by going to www.d181foundation.org and clicking The Community Speaker link on the homepage. Or use the registration links below:

HMS is collecting Box Tops. Money received from Box Tops will go to the Student Council Fund, which helps to pay for things such as Spirit Day prizes along with the end-of-year celebration dunk tank and ice cream truck. Student Council has no designated funds, so every Box Top helps! There is a clear plastic collection jar in the Main Office.

Lost & Found Pick Up

Beginning Monday December 10th all items that have been collecting at the Lost & Found will be placed out in the HMS Commons area. We have accumulated many lunch boxes and totes, water bottles, books and school subject binders, PE shorts and street clothes. Please remind your students to take a look and claim their lost items. Also, if you are assisting with locker clean out on the 19th and 20th, take a moment to check out what items might belong to your family. Thank you for helping us get your lost items back to you!
