Kick-off the new school year with some spirit! The online HMS Spiritwear Store goes LIVE this Wednesday, 9/2. Look out for an email with a link to the store on Opening Day. Orders will be taken until Tuesday, 9/22.
Get your HMS face mask today! We only have 20 left (white with blue logos left in stock) in Teen Sizes. Blue masks are sold out but can be special ordered. Larger sizes can be custom ordered. Contact us at vpfunding@hmspto.org to place an order. Masks are $12 each.
The first PTO meeting of the new school year will be held on Friday, 9/18 at 9 a.m. via Zoom. It is an important meeting because we will be approving the 20-21 year PTO budget and Mr. Pena will spend the time answering the questions that are most pressing for you.
The budget can be found here: hmspto.org. To submit a question to Mr. Pena, please fill out the attached form.

If you haven’t already joined the PTO when registering your student through Skyward and SchoolPay, please do so today. The PTO provides many benefits including access to the online directory, volunteer opportunities, and a forum for your voice to be heard.
General PTO meetings will be held every other month on the 2nd Friday of that month starting at 9 a.m. We will be meeting on Zoom. The first PTO meeting is Friday, 9/18 at 9 a.m.

Back-to-School Day August 17, 2020Calling all 6th-grade students and parents – join us for Back-to-Schoool Day at HMS on Monday, August 17th. Students may sign up for a 45-minute time slot, during which time they will turn in their iPads (returning D181 students), receive their Google Chromebooks, and attend a brief orientation with Principal Ruben Pena. Afterward, students and parents will take a guided tour of the building. Students will not be receiving schedules or locker assignments at this time, so there is no need to bring school supplies or any materials other than their school-issued iPad.
Please sign up for your time slot using the signup below. Times start at 9am and the last sign-up is at 7pm. Due to restrictions on gatherings, we can only allow each student to attend with one parent/adult. Additional details about entrance and exit procedures will be communicated prior to the 17th. Be sure to check the weekly HMS PTO eblasts and communications for more information.

Calling ALL students!! We will be selling a wide assortment of HMS spirit wear. Get some new items for your child to showcase their school spirit whether learning in school or at home.
We also will be selling HMS face masks! These are teen sizes and have the Spartan logo on them. A great and necessary item for these days!
