Did you know that the graduation activities for the 8th grade students are fully planned by our PTO? A committee of 8th grade parents is already forming and we will soon be organizing how this year’s events are going to look. The PTO is searching for one or two 7th Grade Parents to join this committee. Those interested should be prepared to lead the planning for their 8th grade students in the 2024-25 school year.
The volunteer opportunity sounds intimidating, but do not fear! There are lots of parents who enjoy getting involved in 8th grade events for their child and the PTO is there to help you every step of the way. Shadowing on the committee this year will set you up for success in 2024-25. Anyone interested can send an email to graduation@hmspto.org.
Fuller House Gives Back Night-Date Change
Due to the fire at Fuller House, the PTO fundraiser has been moved to Tuesday, September 26th from 4pm-11pm. Fuller House is generously donating 10% back of all sales to the HMS PTO (carry out or dine-in). Let’s go out and support a local business that has given so much back to our school.
Hinsdale Central Girls Basketball Skills Clinic
Calling all 6th Grade Girls!
-Hinsdale Central Girls Basketball Coaches & Players will lead a skills clinic for girls in 1st through 6th grade
–Saturday, October 21st from 2-3:15pm at Hinsdale Central Main Gym.
-Girls will group girls based on ability for most impactful training
-Fun event for girls to develop basketball skills with Hinsdale Central Girls Basketball team (with some proud HMS alums) & coaches
-Training for all skill levels – beginner to advanced
-Only $20 per player. Event will fill up fast so register today HERE.

The Community Speaker Series: Seeking Committee Members
The Community Speaker Series promotes district wide learning about education, child development, wellness and parenting. It is open and free to all members of the K- 12 learning community. The intention of the series is to encourage proactive parenting that supports children’s and adolescents’ social and emotional development as well as their academic achievement. Through the series, D86 and D181 enlist top experts to inform and inspire our community as a means to enrich school-family partnership that supports the education of our students. We are looking for parents and community members to volunteer on our committee. If you are interested in helping identify speakers for future seasons and becoming more involved, please contact Dana Martin for details (dfiordalisomartin@gmail.com).
