If you’re a parent, you’ve had a moment–maybe many of them–when you’ve thought, “How did that conversation go so badly?” William Stixrud, Ph.D., and Ned Johnson have 60 years combined experience talking to kids one-on-one, and the most common question they get when out speaking to parents and educators is: What do you say? Johnson and Stixrud show how to engage in respectful and effective dialogue, suggest new ways to handle specific thorny topics, and provide a manual and map for communicating more effectively with your child.
This event is free and open to all. If you are interested in attending, please register in advance by using the registration links. See FLYER for more details.

LOST AND FOUND
At HMS we have two main lost and found locations: a rack for clothing and shelves for lunch items outside of the cafetorium; and cabinets in the main foyer under the grade level cubbies. They are both filled to overflowing with items. We have reminded students daily to check these areas for their misplaced items. Periodically items that are labeled with student names are removed and returned to those students. All unclaimed items are donated before winter break, spring break and at the end of the school year. Parents are encouraged to check our lost and found locations for their students’ lost items. Please check the areas next time you’re in our building.
